Ex-IRGC Chief Warns: Israeli Bombs Could Target Regional Countries Next

Mohsen Rezaei, former chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has issued a stark warning ahead of an extraordinary Islamic-Arab summit set to take place in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday. Writing on X, Rezaei urged the summit to take the threat of Israeli aggression seriously.

“If the summit fails to take practical action in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against five Muslim countries and its genocide in Gaza, then Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iraq too should expect the regime’s warplanes and bombs,” he wrote.

Rezaei, who also serves on the Expediency Discernment Council advising Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, referred to recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and most recently Qatar. He stressed that “before the regime moves against each country in the region one by one, a military coalition must be formed to confront it.”

The warning comes after Israel targeted a residential compound in Doha on Tuesday, where Hamas leaders were meeting to discuss a U.S.-proposed deal to end the Gaza war. While senior Hamas officials survived, five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer were killed.

Since October 2023, the Gaza war has claimed over 64,803 lives, with Qatar, the U.S., and Egypt actively mediating efforts to halt the violence. Rezaei’s statement signals rising regional tensions and underscores the urgency he sees for a unified response to what he calls ongoing Israeli aggression.
