According to the Saed News analytical report, quoting Namnak, okra is a vegetable that has attracted the attention of chefs and people interested in healthy nutrition due to its rich content of nutrients and fiber.
In cooking, okra can be used in various ways such as sautéed, boiled, fried, and in preparing stews and other dishes. Okra stew is one of the popular dishes in the provinces of Kermanshah, Ilam, Khuzestan, Kurdistan, and Fars. However, it is cooked in all provinces, has many fans, and is usually served with rice or bread.

If you are also a fan of okra stew and other okra-based dishes, you can buy fresh okra and preserve it for up to one year in the freezer without any change in color by following the method below:
Buy fresh, small okra with green pods.
Place the okra in a container and add some water and salt.
Let them soak for 15 minutes.
Wash the okra with clean water.
Remove the tops (caps) of the okra.
Pour some water into a suitable pot and bring it to a boil.
Add the okra and let it boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
Transfer the okra into very cold water, then after a few minutes drain it well.
Place the okra in a plastic freezer bag.
When filling the bag, make sure there is no air inside.
Put the okra in the freezer.
By following this method, you can store okra in the freezer for up to one year without losing its color or appearance.
