According to SAEDNEWS, German news sources reported that after a tram derailed on Tuesday night local time in eastern Berlin and hit electric poles, around 20 passengers were injured, including three seriously.
According to ISNA citing Xinhua, the front part of the tram was damaged while turning left, which caused the wagons to lose balance. The tram then left the tracks and struck power poles.
The local transport company estimated that recovery operations and infrastructure repairs would take at least 48 hours.
Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.
