SAEDNEWS: Turn Empty Soup Cans into Stylish Decorative Flower Pots with Decoupage
Accoridng to Saednews,
Materials and Tools Needed:
Empty soup cans (as many as you want)
White paint (acrylic or chalk paint)
Decoupage glue (Mod Podge or similar)
Floral paper napkins (your choice of design)
Paintbrush
Large wooden beads (for base or handles)
Hot glue gun

Remove all labels from the cans completely. Wash both the inside and outside thoroughly with water and detergent, then dry well. Make sure no adhesive residue remains on the surface.
Cover the entire outer surface of the can with a layer of white paint. For best results, use chalk or acrylic paint. Let it dry completely.
Measure the napkin around the can and cut it so it fits exactly around the body. Separate the layers of the napkin so only the printed decorative top layer remains.
Apply a thin layer of decoupage glue onto the painted surface. Carefully place the cut napkin onto the can and gently smooth it down. Press it lightly so it adheres well, especially into any grooves.
Allow the project to dry completely. Then apply another layer of decoupage glue over the napkin to seal and protect it, giving a smooth and slightly glossy finish.
Using a hot glue gun, attach wooden beads as handles or decorative bases. You can place them at the bottom as feet or attach them near the top as handles if the can has a lid.

Use different patterned napkins to create unique designs for each can.
These handmade containers make excellent gifts when filled with stationery, makeup brushes, or small accessories.
They can be used for storing hair clips, rubber bands, buttons, sewing kits, or even as small planters for air plants.
Instead of throwing away empty cans, give them a second life by turning them into elegant, handmade decorative containers. This simple DIY project is an easy way to add a personal, creative touch to your home décor.
