SAEDNEWS: The Media Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament) has strongly criticized the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) for suddenly cutting off Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf’s television interview.
According to the political service of Saed News Agency, citing IRNA, a statement issued by the Media Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in the early hours of Wednesday, July 10, 1405, reads:
“We inform our dear fellow citizens that, in line with implementing the directive of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarding the follow-up of the specified conditions in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament and head of our country’s negotiating team, held an explanatory interview in coordination with the IRIB organization to present a report to the public. This interview was delivered to the organization more than two hours before its scheduled broadcast; however, unfortunately, the broadcast of this interview was stopped midway.
This is while the interview was recorded, and the minimum responsibility of IRIB officials was that, if they decided contrary to usual procedures not to air part of the interview, they should have coordinated with this center.
It is worth noting that the unaired sections include responses to the false claim about the IAEA inspection of Iran’s nuclear sites, details regarding the follow-up on the release of frozen assets, the mention of a $300 billion reconstruction credit in the text of the agreement, clarification regarding Donald Trump’s misinformation, and explanation of the strategic message of the Supreme Leader on June 18.”
Parts of Ghalibaf’s interview that were not broadcast have now been published. In your view, what was the reason for stopping this interview—was it a media decision or a decision influenced by behind-the-scenes powers?
