Saed News: After finishing his meal, Saddam asked for a warm coat. We said with surprise, “Why do you need it? It’s warm here!” He replied: “Iraqi mornings are cold. I don’t want to shiver when I go for execution so it won’t be interpreted as fear.”

Saddam Hussein’s Strange Request Before Execution / What Was the Last Meal the Dictator Asked For?

According to SAEDNEWS, citing Fararu, an American general who had witnessed Saddam Hussein’s interrogation sessions on several occasions has recounted interesting memories about the night of Saddam’s execution.

He says about Saddam’s condition before execution: on the night of execution, he was in a good mood, happy, and showed no signs of anxiety. That night he requested rice and chicken. We brought it for him, and he ate with a good appetite. Then he asked for honey and hot water. It was provided for him, and he drank three glasses of honey and hot water, saying he had been drinking this drink since childhood.

After eating, he asked for his warm coat. We said in surprise, “Why do you need it? It’s warm here!” He replied: “Iraqi mornings are cold. I don’t want to shiver when I go for execution so it won’t be interpreted as fear.”

Before the execution, he shouted “Allahu Akbar” and recited the Muslim declaration of faith. He turned to the judges present and said: “Look, the Americans are executing me. You will later see that you too will be killed by them.” The American general says he was frightened upon hearing the shout of “Allahu Akbar” and felt that his forces might detonate the location with that signal, so he left the scene.

On the ninth of January 2007, at 6:07 a.m. local time, Saddam Hussein was hanged. He was executed in the very place where he had previously tortured many Iraqi citizens.
