SAEDNEWS: Turkey has rejected claims from Benjamin Netanyahu’s office about the reason for an Israeli airstrike in Syria, accusing Israel of seeking to legitimize attacks on Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ankara said it remains committed to cooperation with the Syrian government and will not allow Syria’s stability to be disrupted.
According to SaedNews: Turkey’s presidency has rejected a statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office regarding an Israeli airstrike on Syria, calling the claims false and saying they were intended to provide justification for attacks against Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Turkish statement said the accusations reflect Netanyahu’s effort to pursue what Ankara described as expansionist and destabilizing policies in the region, particularly ahead of Israel’s elections. It added that Turkey, like the overwhelming majority of the international community, seeks to turn peace into a lasting regional condition.
According to the statement, achieving that objective requires abandoning Netanyahu’s “aggressive and coercive policies” and respecting international law. Ankara also said it remains determined to continue legitimate cooperation with the Syrian government with the aim of promoting calm, stability and prosperity in the country.
The Turkish presidency concluded that Ankara “will never allow Syria’s stability to be disrupted.”
Earlier, Netanyahu’s office said preventing the deployment of Turkish forces at the Abu Zuhur airbase was the reason for the Israeli airstrike carried out the previous morning. The Israeli statement claimed that Syria was on the verge of violating the existing security arrangement with Israel and intended to authorize the deployment of Turkish forces at an airbase.
