According to Saednews, Iranian official Rezaei made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with the family of Ali Larijani at their residence in Tehran. During the visit, he also honored Larijani’s son, Morteza, who was killed in the same attack.

Ali Larijani was serving as secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council when he was killed in an Israeli airstrike near Tehran on the night of March 16. The attack occurred during the 40-day conflict that began on February 28, following military action by Israel and the United States against Iran. His son Morteza also lost his life in the strike.

Rezaei described Ali Larijani as a figure known for his strong cultural perspective and political insight, as well as an experienced and capable manager in political and security affairs. He said Larijani remained committed to serving the Islamic Republic and continued his efforts until the final moments of his life.

Rezaei further stated that the Israeli government had been frustrated by Larijani’s efforts to help address and resolve Iran’s diplomatic challenges.
