Tehran Slams German Foreign Minister's Remarks, Baghaei Says They Reflect a 'Diversionary Tactic'

According to Saednews the Political Desk, Iran's Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized recent comments made by Germany's foreign minister regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, describing the remarks as "shameful" and accusing Berlin of attempting to distort the facts.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made the comments in a post published early Tuesday on the social media platform X. He argued that Germany's effort to reshape the narrative through "wordplay" resembles the deceptive character Mephistopheles from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's classic play Faust.

Baghaei also asserted that Germany must be held fully accountable for what he described as its complicity in military aggression against Iran. He stated that Berlin should compensate Iran for the damages resulting from what he characterized as unlawful and criminal actions.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, public statements and media narratives cannot absolve the German government of what Iran considers its legal and international responsibility for participating in an illegal war and committing war crimes against the Iranian people.

The remarks reflect the latest escalation in diplomatic tensions between Tehran and Berlin, with Iran reiterating its demand for accountability and compensation over Germany's alleged role in recent regional developments.
