SAEDNEWS: The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Iran’s response to the U.S. proposal is still under review, and it will be announced once a conclusion is reached
According to the political desk of Saed News, Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spoke on Friday evening on the sidelines of a memorial ceremony for Martyr Larijani and his son at Imam Sadeq Mosque in Palestine Square, Tehran. He addressed last night’s aggressive action by the US military against two Iranian oil tankers near the port of Jask and the Strait of Hormuz, as well as attacks on several locations in coastal areas overlooking the strait.
He stated that the action carried out by the US military constituted a blatant violation of international law and the ceasefire.
Noting that this was not the first time the Americans had violated the ceasefire, he added that the country’s defenders had delivered a firm response to the aggression.
The Foreign Ministry official emphasized that although a nominal ceasefire is in place, Iran’s armed forces remain fully prepared, closely monitoring the situation, and will respond decisively to any hostile acts.
In response to a question regarding Iran’s reply to the proposed US plan, Baghaei said the matter is still under review and will be announced once a conclusion is reached.
Regarding reports that the United States had set a deadline for Iran to respond to the proposal, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that the issue remains under consideration, and Iran is proceeding with its own process without regard to such deadlines.
