The Wall Street Journal Reveals Details of Trump’s Plan for the Strait of Hormuz

According to the political service of Saed News Agency, The Wall Street Journal reported on an ambiguous plan by Donald Trump regarding the withdrawal of commercial vessels from the Strait of Hormuz. Citing a U.S. official, the newspaper wrote that the U.S. operation in the Strait of Hormuz is a mechanism that enables countries, insurance companies, and shipping firms to coordinate maritime navigation through the strait.

The U.S. official told the newspaper that Trump’s current initiative does not include American warships escorting vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The official also stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has recently deployed naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, posing a risk to maritime traffic.

Earlier, the U.S. president posted a vague message claiming that the United States would begin an operation on Monday to extract commercial vessels that are allegedly stranded in the Persian Gulf.

Trump did not explain how the plan would be implemented or whether Iran would permit such an operation.
