SAEDNEWS: The United States Reviews Peace Proposal as Trump Is Unlikely to Accept Iran’s New Offer

Trump: Iran Has Not Yet Paid a Sufficient Price / Military Action Remains an Option

According to the political desk of Saed News, citing The Guardian, Donald Trump said on Saturday that he intends to review Tehran’s new peace proposal but expressed skepticism about its prospects, stating that Iran has not yet “paid a sufficient price.” Speaking before boarding Air Force One, he commented on the proposal: “I will let you know later,” adding, “They will tell me the exact details now.”

Shortly after addressing reporters, Trump posted on social media about the new proposal, saying: “I cannot imagine this proposal being acceptable, as they have not yet paid enough for what they have done to humanity and the world over the past 47 years.”

Earlier this week, Trump rejected a previous proposal from Iran. Nevertheless, a ceasefire in the conflict—initiated by the United States and Israel in late February—has been in place since April 8, while a round of peace negotiations held in Pakistan ended unsuccessfully.

Iranian sources stated that Tehran’s latest 14-point proposal includes the withdrawal of U.S. forces from areas surrounding Iran, the lifting of the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the release of Iran’s frozen assets, compensation payments, the removal of sanctions, and an end to hostilities across all fronts, including Lebanon. It also proposes a new mechanism for overseeing the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking to reporters in Florida on Saturday, Trump said that the option of renewed military action against Iran remains on the table. “If they misbehave or act against the interests of the United States, it could certainly happen,” he said.
