According to SAEDNEWS, local media in the United States say that the loud sound heard a few days ago across a wide area of the city of Boston was caused by a meteor explosion over the state of Massachusetts.

Jennifer Dorrn, deputy head of news at the United States space agency, said in a statement to Agence France-Presse that the fireball disintegrated shortly after 2 p.m. local time over northeastern Massachusetts and southeastern New Hampshire.
According to The Guardian, residents of the area were alarmed by the unexpected loud explosions, and social media users reported that the blasts were so powerful that they caused houses to shake.
