SAEDNEWS: Ugandan Mosque Imam Discovers Two Weeks After Wedding That His Wife Is Actually a Man
According to Saed News, citing Simorgh, Muhammad Motumba, the imam of Noor Mosque in the Kyonja region of Uganda, was searching for a suitable wife when he met a beautiful, veiled woman and fell in love with her.
When Sheikh Muhammad proposed marriage, the woman immediately accepted. However, she set a condition that marital duties would only be fulfilled after her dowry was paid to her aunt. Two weeks after the wedding, she also refused marital relations, claiming she was in her menstrual period.
During those days, one of the neighbors reportedly saw the bride climbing over a wall and stealing electrical appliances and kitchenware. The matter was reported to the police, and the bride was arrested.
Police investigator Isḥaq Mujira from Kyonja district stated that after inspection it was revealed that the imam’s wife was actually a man. Following this discovery, Sheikh Muhammad filed a new complaint accusing his “wife” of fraud, identity deception, and theft in order to recover his losses.
Further investigations showed that the deceiver was a 27-year-old man named Richard Tomushabi, who had altered his appearance to resemble a woman in order to steal the imam’s property. Shortly afterward, his aunt was also arrested, though she denied any involvement and claimed she did not know he was a man.
