If you are planning to explore Tehran and visit a place that offers both beautiful nature and a developed environment, we recommend the beautiful 'Rendan' village. Rendan is one of the villages surrounding Tehran, ideal for a day trip with friends and family. It is a perfect destination where you can safely bring your children and enjoy an eco-tourism experience with your loved ones. But where exactly is Rendan?
Iranian scholars believe that this area was not a village in the past. Instead, it was one of the places where villagers from Shahr-e Rey, old Tehran, and nearby villages would take their herds to graze. The term "Rendan" actually comes from "Rameh-dan," which means "place for herding," where the 'm' sound changed to 'n' for easier pronunciation, and the village is commonly referred to as 'Randon.'
Rendan village is located just a short distance from Tehran, making it a great destination for a day trip. On the Tehran – Kon-Solqan road, after 18 kilometers on the Imamzadeh Davood Road, you will see a sign for Rendan Village. From there, you still have 6 more kilometers to the village.

The waterfall is located 2 kilometers east of the village, and it's not accessible by car. A short, less than one-hour walk will take you to this 40-meter-high waterfall.
'Valak Polo' is a traditional dish from Rendan. Valak is a wild, edible plant that grows in the mountainous region of Rendan during the spring. It is known for its medicinal benefits, such as lowering blood sugar, being diuretic, improving shortness of breath, and alkalizing the blood.
