Many people dislike cabbage because of its smell; therefore, the most important tip for preparing any dish or salad containing cabbage is to remove the cabbage odor. To do this, chop the cabbage and soak it in ice water for 15 minutes, then drain it and let it dry. This trick removes the unpleasant smell and you will end up with a delicious and fragrant salad or dish.
To briefly explain the uses of different onions, we start with yellow onion, which is the most well-known type. This onion is the best choice for cooking. White onion has a milder flavor compared to yellow onion. It is almost similar to red onion in use and can be eaten raw or used in salads and dips. It is also the best choice for Mexican dishes. Red onion has more fiber than white and yellow onions, and because of its beautiful color, it can be used to garnish dishes. It is also a good choice for grilling, salads, and sandwiches. Red onions do not give enough aroma and flavor to dishes, so they are generally not used for cooking.
