According to the Cooking Service of Saed News, cheese-stuffed bread with potatoes is one of the most delicious dishes made with an amazing dough, and you can easily prepare it at home. This bread is incredibly soft and fluffy, and the center is filled with mashed potatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese. You can make this tasty dish for lunch or dinner. The filling ingredients can be changed as desired—you may use a variety of vegetables or cheeses. To make this bread, you’ll need wheat flour or pastry/bakery flour—either will work.
For the Dough:
Flour: 125 grams
Butter: 50 grams
Milk: 1/4 cup
Sugar: 1 tablespoon
Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
For the Filling:
Potatoes: 4
Salt: 2 teaspoons
Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
Yogurt: 2 tablespoons
Shredded mozzarella cheese: As needed
Sift the flour into a bowl. Add the sugar, salt, melted butter, and milk. Mix thoroughly until you get a soft and smooth dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour; if it’s too stiff, add a little more milk.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature (not too cold) for 10 minutes.
Now prepare the ingredients to go inside the dough. In this version, we’ll use potatoes and cheese. Wash the potatoes and place them in a pot with some salt and water. Boil them until cooked through. Peel the potatoes, then mash them using a fork, potato masher, or food processor. Mix them with salt, black pepper, and yogurt until smooth.
Dust a clean flat surface with flour. Roll out the dough, then add one layer of cheese in the center, followed by a layer of mashed potatoes, and another layer of shredded cheese. Fold the dough over the filling, sealing it. Use a rolling pin to shape it as desired.
Heat a pan and melt some butter in it. Place the dough in the pan and brush the top with more melted butter. Cover the pan with a lid. Once the bottom is cooked, flip the bread to cook the other side.
Place the stuffed dough on parchment paper on a baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, remove the bread from the oven, slice it, and serve with your favorite sauces.
You can also use sliced mozzarella cheese instead of shredded.
The filling can include meat, sausage, or vegetables.
This bread can be made either in a pan or in the oven.
Be careful not to add too much flour to avoid drying out the dough.
You can use mayonnaise instead of yogurt for the filling.
