According to the historical service of Saed News, the idea that the architects and artists who built Persepolis during the Achaemenid era signed their names on the columns and reliefs of this World Heritage site seemed unlikely. However, now a historical documentarian has managed to collect around 700 signatures found on the stones and carvings of Persepolis.

Herbert Karim-Masihi, a documentary photographer of ancient artifacts, spent about three years gathering Achaemenid-era signatures from various sites across Iran that contain Achaemenid remains. After nine months of continuous work at Persepolis, he was able to collect approximately 700 signatures in over 60 different styles from various civilizations, inscribed on the stones, columns, and reliefs of Persepolis. He has now, for the first time, spoken to Hamshahri newspaper about this fascinating documentation project.
