SAEDNEWS: Photos of Esmat-od-Dowleh, daughter of Naser al-Din Shah, reveal her great fondness for experimenting with different poses—so much so that she can rightfully be called the queen of posing in the Qajar court!
According to the historical section of Saed News, an interest in photography in the Qajar dynasty was not exclusive to Naser al-Din Shah; it seems this passion was inherited by his children as well. The large number of surviving photographs of Esmat-od-Dowleh, Naser al-Din Shah’s daughter, confirms this.
Esmat-od-Dowleh not only amassed many photographs but also seemed to have a talent for striking a variety of poses. In her individual portraits, she displays different moods and expressions. One of the most striking images that remains shows her in a romantic pose beside a pomegranate bowl.
