According to Saed News’ History and Culture Service, citing Khabar Online, a unique sword was discovered in Egypt about a month ago, belonging to one of the greatest pharaohs in Egyptian history. Ramses II, known as Ramses the Great, expanded the boundaries of his empire as far as Syria and Sudan. The bronze sword was buried in an ancient military fortress in the Beheira Governorate, located in northeastern Egypt, south of Alexandria.

Ramses II belonged to Egypt’s nineteenth dynasty, and recent archaeological findings have revealed important details about his imperial era.

Archaeologists speculate that the fortress where the sword was found was built to protect the borders of Ramses’ empire against tribes living in present-day Libya.

In recent years, a temple dedicated to the pharaoh in Giza and 2,000 ram heads from his era have also been discovered, alongside a statue of Ramses found within the temple.
