SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned US-imposed restrictions on its diplomats in New York, calling them a violation of Washington’s legal commitments under the UN Headquarters Agreement.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has condemned recent US measures targeting Iranian diplomats and members of Iran’s UN mission, calling them a blatant violation of America’s international responsibilities.
In a statement posted on X, Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei accused Washington of deliberately tightening restrictions on Iranian diplomats and their families to disrupt Iran’s diplomatic work at the United Nations.
He further highlighted that systematic harassment by the US, as the host country, has already prevented Iranian officials from participating in several international meetings held outside the limited zones imposed by American authorities.
Baqaei stressed that these restrictions, which interfere even with daily movements and routine shopping, not only breach the Headquarters Agreement but also demonstrate a new level of hostility by the US toward Iranians.
The ministry emphasized that such actions undermine the spirit of diplomacy and violate international norms, calling on the global community to recognize and respond to this escalation.
