SAEDNEWS: Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi has emphasized that Tehran and Baku are determined to build a shared, secure, and honorable future founded on mutual respect.
In a post on his Instagram page late Thursday, Abbas Araghchi shared a detailed report on the programs, goals, and outlook of Tehran-Baku relations following his recent trip to Azerbaijan.
He noted that during his December 7–8 visit to Baku, he held extensive and constructive meetings with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev; Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov; Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev; and Speaker of Parliament Sahiba Gafarova.
Araghchi emphasized that Iran-Azerbaijan relations go far beyond geographical proximity, reflecting deep historical, cultural, and civilizational ties rooted in the longstanding kinship of peoples on both sides of the Aras River.
He wrote that today, these relations are expanding across all areas, including economic and transit cooperation, political engagement, culture, and humanitarian efforts. Both countries, he added, are determined to elevate their cooperation to a strategic level, grounded in this shared foundation.
The diplomat also highlighted that all discussions stressed the importance of maintaining stability and security in the South Caucasus as essential for the progress and prosperity of all nations in the region.
Finally, he underscored that no third party should interfere with the constructive relations between Tehran and Baku. Both countries, he concluded, are committed to building a shared, secure, and honorable future based on mutual respect.
