According to SaedNews, citing Rozito, Brooklyn has undergone multiple surgeries since being attacked in 2020, maintaining her spirit throughout every stage of recovery. She noted that while she still has a long way to go, her fans provide immense motivation.

On her YouTube channel, she said, “I’ve learned to simply love myself and everything around me and to take nothing for granted.”

Brooklyn expressed her desire to return to work, though she is still undergoing surgeries. After two and a half years, the model was finally able to smile. Her first surgery took place in November 2021.

During the first 20-hour procedure, doctors transplanted skin and an artery from her arm to her mouth to create a new lip. They then made an incision in her neck, connecting the artery to ensure blood flow to the new lip.

In a YouTube video, Brooklyn discussed the surgery performed on November 17, 2021, reportedly costing $400,000.

After her first surgery, she said, “Everything went well. Nerves, tissue, skin—everything is alive and healing. My fingers can move, there’s no nerve damage, and I’m happy to be recovering.”

At the time, the 23-year-old admitted that many people advised her not to share any photos or videos of her injured face. She decided, however, to document every step of the process to help others who might face similar situations.

Brooklyn, who had her parents and friend, actress Chloe Lukasiak, by her side during each surgery, admitted that being in the hospital is challenging, as it brings back memories of the pit bull attack. She was unable to be with family or friends at the time due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

“Hospitals have been difficult for me ever since the first attack when I was alone, so I get anxious when I’m admitted,” she added.

Chloe spent over a year searching for a surgeon willing to operate on her face. Brooklyn said, “My surgery is very complex, but my doctor is the best—creative and artistic. That’s exactly what I wanted, so I’m thrilled I found him. It took a year, but it was worth the wait.”

The energetic young model has emphasized that the surgery isn’t about changing her appearance—it’s about protecting her exposed gums. She added that she’s happy to finally be able to move her lips again, even if they’ll never be exactly as they were.
