Pezeshkian: Those who violated the JCPOA are now claiming that Iran has not fulfilled its commitments; the IAEA has not acted honestly toward Iran

According to Saed News, on Monday, 11 Shahrivar 1404 (Iranian calendar), Masoud Pezeshkian, in an interview with China’s CCTV network, stated that “China is a country with unity, cohesion, and decisive, coordinated leadership that is rapidly advancing.” He added that the country follows fully scientific, expert-driven, and goal-oriented programs for development, and that its political progress to resist unilateralism and promote multilateralism is very positive.

He explained that in order to distance from unilateralism, countries must adhere to the frameworks written and signed at the current summit. He emphasized that the U.S. and its allies aim to impose their policies in the region through force and sanctions, preventing countries from stepping outside their frameworks.

Pezeshkian said that to act outside these frameworks, countries must implement in practice what is discussed in meetings to change behavior against unilateralism—through interaction, trade, and not yielding to their demands regarding sanctions.

He added that justice, fairness, and law must be upheld among nations to share development globally. China, now leading this approach and policy, is expected to provide the platform for these high objectives.

The president warned that if the U.S. and Israel continue using power rather than logic, bombing opponents, assassinating political leaders, and targeting civilians and scientists, and countries outside the frameworks do not unite, such authoritarian approaches may eventually affect China as well.

He emphasized that the U.S.’s main rival is China, and if America succeeds in isolating countries cooperating with China, it could use its power unopposed.

Pezeshkian highlighted that China’s vision for global development, security, and peace must be followed by all nations seeking peace and security to counter illegal, inhumane, and unjust actions. Implementing this vision could establish practical mechanisms to prevent those who disrupt global peace from acting with impunity.

Regarding China’s development, Pezeshkian praised its programs as expert, well-planned, and commendable. Compared to his visit ten years ago, Beijing has significantly improved as a capital, with cleaner air and less traffic.

On China’s plan for reforming global governance, he said it is a comprehensive package whose success depends on full implementation, aiming to replace multilateral justice-focused approaches against the double standards that allow Israel and its supporters to ignore legal frameworks while claiming to defend human rights.

Pezeshkian stressed the importance of countries cooperating with China against unilateralism, preventing authoritarian overreach through policies such as unfair sanctions. He described China’s Belt and Road Initiative as a strategic tool to promote peace, security, and prosperity.

On the activation of the “snapback” mechanism, Pezeshkian said it exemplifies the double standards applied by supporters of unilateralism, noting that those who violated the JCPOA now accuse Iran of failing to comply.

Regarding potential Israeli military aggression, he said Iran does not seek war but is fully capable of defending itself.

On cooperation with the IAEA, he stated that the agency has not acted honestly toward Iran, but Tehran remains ready to cooperate within accepted international frameworks, independent of double standards.
