According to the Saed News Social Service, a large bull sculpture from the Hundred-Column Palace of Persepolis is now housed at the University of Chicago’s Oriental Institute Museum. The statue, which suffered extensive damage when it was first uncovered, was transported to the United States and restored in 1938 by the Italian sculptor Donato Bastianini. This remarkable piece is considered one of the most magnificent symbols of Achaemenid architecture and stone-carving artistry.
