Iran's Acting Foreign Minister: Response to Israel Will Uphold International Law and UN Charter

According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent phone conversation, Iranian diplomat Bagheri Kani voiced his strong concerns regarding the ongoing crisis in Gaza, particularly in discussions with Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp. The focus of their dialogue was the horrific events unfolding in the besieged Gaza Strip, including what Bagheri Kani described as the "barbaric crimes" perpetrated by the Israeli regime.

Bagheri Kani specifically criticized the Western world for its silence regarding these atrocities, particularly referencing the bombing of the Al-Tabin school in Gaza City. He remarked, "If only this one crime had been committed by an entity other than the Zionist regime, the Western countries would have raised the flag of defending human beings and human rights and used all their capacities against it."

Furthermore, the Iranian diplomat addressed the assassination of former Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31, calling attention to the violation of Iran's national security and sovereignty. He lamented the lack of response from some European countries to the terrorist acts perpetrated by the Israeli regime, which he argued only fuels the cycle of violence and impunity.

In light of these events, Bagheri Kani emphasized Iran's right to respond to these acts of aggression, stating, "The action of the Islamic Republic of Iran is in accordance with international procedures and the United Nations Charter." He urged the Dutch government to condemn the Israeli regime's crimes and support Iran's legitimate actions in defense of its sovereignty.

In response, Veldkamp expressed his concern over the escalating tensions in the West Asia region, describing the Israeli attack on the school as "heartbreaking." He called for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released a statement confirming the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was orchestrated by the Israeli regime, with support from the U.S. government. Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, have vowed to retaliate, with Khamenei asserting that the assassination has set the stage for “harsh punishment” for Israel.

Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the political adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, took to social media to announce that preparations for severe consequences against Israel are already underway. He concluded, “The sole goal of the Israeli regime in killing the worshipers of the Al-Tabin school in Gaza and assassinating the martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Iran is to seek war and make the ceasefire negotiations fail.”

As this tragic situation continues to unfold, the international community watches closely, hoping for a swift resolution and support for humanitarian efforts in the region.
