Ukraine Strikes Back: Offshore Gas Platform Used by Russia Targeted in Latest Attack in Black Sea

According to SAEDNEWS, Ukraine's navy and military intelligence have successfully attacked and inflicted damage on a former offshore gas platform used by Russian forces in the Black Sea. This information was confirmed by navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk on Saturday.

Through a Facebook post, Pletenchuk revealed that the Russian forces had been using the offshore gas platform for GPS spoofing, thereby posing risks to civilian navigation in the area. He shared a dramatic video captured at night, depicting the explosion on the platform and the subsequent blaze.

Notably, Pletenchuk mentioned that Russian equipment and military personnel had been stationed on the platform just half a day prior to the attack, indicating the strategic importance of the site.

This operation comes on the heels of a large-scale incursion by Ukrainian forces into Russia's Kursk border region earlier in the week, marking an escalation in military activities between the two nations.
