SAEDNEWS: During President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Pakistan, both countries engaged in detailed discussions on regional and international issues, reaffirming their close brotherly ties and ongoing cooperation despite regional challenges.
According toSaed News citing IRNA, Shafqat Ali Khan, during his weekly press conference in Islamabad today, referred to the recent visit of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to Pakistan, stating that during this visit, the two countries held detailed exchanges of views on regional and international issues.
He added that Iran and Pakistan share rich relations in commercial, cultural, border, and people-to-people fields, reflecting the brotherly nature of their interactions.
The spokesman of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, in response to recent telephone consultations between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and his American counterpart, and simultaneously the consultations between Tehran and Islamabad during Dr. Pezeshkian’s visit, said: “Iran is our important neighboring country and is recognized as a key factor for lasting peace and stability in the region.”
In response to another question regarding the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, he said technical teams from both countries remain in contact, and any developments on this matter will be announced.
Shafqat Ali Khan also commented on the intensifying aggression of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza, stating that Pakistan’s position against Israel is principled and explicit, and Islamabad never recognizes Israel.
According to IRNA, the official visit of Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, took place from August 2 to 4 (11 to 13 Mordad), upon the invitation of Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan. Accompanying the president were ministers of industry, mining and trade, foreign affairs, defense, roads and urban development, the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, and other officials.
This trip was the fifth official meeting between the heads of the two countries within the past year, occurring only two months after the joint visit of Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Army Commander to Tehran. Continuous telephone contacts between Pezeshkian and Shehbaz Sharif over recent months, especially amid recent regional military tensions, indicate the serious will of both parties to deepen bilateral cooperation.
