Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi Pays Tribute to Mahmoud Farshchian, Icon of Iranian Art

According to the political service of Saed News Analytical Base, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, issued a condolence message on the passing of Master Mahmoud Farshchian.

The text of the Foreign Minister’s message is as follows:

With deep sorrow and regret, I offer my condolences on the passing of Master Mahmoud Farshchian, the great artist of Persian miniature painting both in Iran and worldwide.

Master Farshchian was the “Hafez” of paintings, who with the delicacy of his brush and the magic of colors elevated Iranian art to its highest perfection and left an unparalleled legacy for the culture and art of this land.

Farshchian was not only a master of one of our most delicate traditional arts, but also a bridge between the past and the present, who depicted the spiritual heritage and aesthetics of Iranian culture before the eyes of the world.

His eternal works, which form a large part of the identity and mindset of Iranian culture and art, were a window into the depths of creation, history, and literature through which the spirit of authentic Iranian art will always remain alive.

“Zamen Ahoo,” “Asr-e Ashura,” “Panah,” and “Shams and Molana,” alongside the design of the sacred shrines of Imam Reza (AS) and Imam Hossein (AS), are only samples from the vast ocean of Master Farshchian’s creativity and profound spiritual vision, which will always hold a special place in the hearts of art lovers and devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).

Many other grand and lasting works of his are preserved and exhibited in renowned museums and collections worldwide, serving as an enduring emblem of Iranian art on the global stage. This great loss is a monumental blow to the world of Iranian art and culture. The name and memory of Master Farshchian will forever remain alive for Iranians.
