According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent statement on social media platform X, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell expressed his horror over the devastating impact of an Israeli strike on a school sheltering civilians in Gaza, which reportedly resulted in numerous Palestinian casualties. According to Borrell, this attack is part of a troubling pattern, with at least 10 schools targeted in recent weeks, and he emphasized that there is no justification for such acts of violence.
As reported by Palestine’s official WAFA news agency, more than 100 individuals lost their lives and many others were injured on Saturday morning when Israeli forces bombed the al-Tabi’in school located in the al-Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the airstrikes occurred while many citizens were engaged in dawn prayers.
The government media office in Gaza conveyed that these Israeli strikes targeted those seeking refuge within the school during the Fajr (dawn) prayer, resulting in an alarming rise in civilian casualties. They described the attack as part of a broader campaign of "genocide and ethnic cleansing" against the Palestinian people, underscoring the severity and urgency of the situation.
This tragic event highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region, urging the international community to take a closer look at the consequences of the conflict and advocate for peace and protection for civilians.
