SAEDNEWS: Iran will meet with Germany, France, and the UK in Geneva to discuss nuclear issues and sanctions, following recent high-level phone calls with European ministers and the EU’s top foreign policy representative.
According to Saed News quoting Tasnim News Agency, citing an informed source, Iran has agreed with three European countries to hold nuclear negotiations tomorrow in Geneva. The talks will focus on nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the head of the Iranian delegation, will lead the talks, while deputy foreign ministers from Germany, France, and the UK will represent their countries.
On Friday, the foreign ministers of the three European countries and the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy held a joint phone call with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
During this call, Iran outlined its positions regarding the so-called snapback mechanism and the responsibilities of the three European countries and the EU, emphasizing their lack of legal and ethical authority to resort to such measures and warning of the consequences.
The European ministers and the EU representative reiterated their readiness to find a diplomatic solution.
It was agreed that Iran’s talks with the three European countries and the EU will continue next Tuesday at the level of deputy foreign ministers.
