Saadnews: Google will invest over one billion dollars in an AI startup called Anthropic.
According to Saadnews, citing IRNA, earlier this month, media reported that the AI startup Anthropic raised around 2 billion dollars, bringing its valuation to 60 billion dollars.
The recent report indicates that Google's new investment in Anthropic is separate from its previous investments in the startup earlier this month.
The executives of the startup Anthropic, which is considered one of the main competitors of OpenAI in the foundational model space, have yet to comment on this investment. Google had previously committed $2 billion for investment in Anthropic. Meanwhile, Amazon, the online retail company, doubled its financial commitments to Anthropic, bringing them to $8 billion last year.
Anthropic's Profit The annual profit of the AI startup Anthropic has reached approximately $875 million. The company provides cloud services and foundational AI models either directly or through other companies. The development of large language models requires expensive computing equipment and highly skilled personnel.
OpenAI, the AI subsidiary that launched the ChatGPT language model in November 2022, sparked a competitive wave in the AI sector. The increasing popularity of OpenAI and the release of new products enabled the company to easily secure the $6.6 billion it needed in October (2023), which raised its financial valuation to $157 billion.
