SAEDNEWS:In a meeting with members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, our Foreign Minister emphasized the continued efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to safeguard Iran's rights to benefit from peaceful nuclear energy, through consultations and coordination with like-minded countries.
According to the Political Service of Saed News Agency, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted today, Monday, the Chairman and members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided an opportunity for the Minister to outline the latest developments in the country’s foreign policy and update the representatives on the initiatives and efforts of the diplomatic apparatus to safeguard Iran’s national interests.
During the session, the Foreign Minister explained the Ministry’s actions over the past year, including in the nuclear sector, strengthening relations with neighboring countries, promoting South-South cooperation, leveraging multilateral organizations such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, engaging in active diplomacy to counter the warmongering and genocidal policies of the Zionist regime, supporting Iranian citizens abroad, and advancing economic diplomacy. He also responded to parliamentarians’ questions on various issues related to foreign policy.
Araghchi further outlined President Medicalian’s planned trip to New York and participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He provided a report on his meetings and negotiations on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, detailing the latest diplomatic efforts to counter the destructive approach of three European countries and the United States in exploiting the JCPOA dispute resolution mechanism to reinstate previously rescinded UN Security Council resolutions concerning Iran’s nuclear program.
The head of the country’s foreign policy apparatus emphasized the continued efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protect the legitimate rights of the Iranian nation to peaceful nuclear energy, in consultation and coordination with like-minded countries.
