According to Saed News, Masoud Pezeshkian, who traveled to Tianjin, China, to attend the 25th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, said on Tuesday morning (September 2, 2025), while on a train heading to Beijing, in a conversation referring to the achievements of this trip:
“The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit that was held is a very good opportunity for us to meet and talk with the leaders of the countries that are members of this organization. In the Shanghai Organization, with the expansion that has been created, the number of member states has reached over 20 countries.”

He stated: “On the sidelines of this summit, we had talks with some of the heads of state. With a number of them, we also had exclusive meetings. In addition, in these discussions, coordination was made for creating inter-country interactions, objecting to unilateralism, and striving for multilateralism. We had discussions for shaping a global governance based on justice, fairness, rights, and the recognition of the sovereignty of all countries, whether big or small.”

The President noted: “These talks lead to interactions in most fields and common aspects between countries in technical, economic, scientific, artistic, and industrial areas. We are trying to put this into practice. We are making efforts to develop the country’s rail industry. We will hold talks so that we can connect all the country’s routes with railways and trains; because it is both cheaper, creates less environmental pollution, and transports more cargo.”

He emphasized: “If we can create such a framework, we will be able to both control traffic and move towards development. We must be able to establish railway connectivity within the country.”
