According Saednews, Shutariku Gorge is one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan, located near Parsian County. With its unique combination of mountains, water, and light, the gorge creates a magical and unforgettable landscape. The name “Shutariku” comes from the local dialect and means “Dark Night,” referring to the winding and shadowy cave-like entrance that visitors must pass through to reach the canyon.
The route through the gorge involves approximately two hours of hiking across rocky terrain, narrow corridors, and crystal-clear pools. Surrounded by bright, rugged cliffs ranging from 3 to 27 meters in height, Shutariku Gorge showcases a remarkable example of the geomorphological features found along Iran’s southern coastline.
The gorge is located northeast of Mogham Port and only 30 kilometers from the city of Parsian. To reach the entrance, visitors must hike about 4 kilometers along a dry, rocky trail that winds through weathered limestone formations before arriving at the dramatic mouth of the canyon.

The most popular activity is hiking through the gorge. Visitors follow a 4-kilometer route that passes towering cliffs and the dark entrance passage, providing a thrilling canyoning experience.
At the end of the trail, a cool turquoise pool awaits visitors. Although swimming is not generally recommended, the peaceful surroundings make it an ideal place to rest and enjoy the scenery.
Located near Shutariku Gorge, Ab-Dabeh (also known as Owdabeh) features a shorter side trail leading to a small waterfall and palm groves. The walk takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Parsian's Shutariku Gorge has a warm, semi-humid climate. The best time to visit is from late autumn through winter and early spring, roughly between October and April. During these months, temperatures are mild and comfortable, making the four-hour hiking route to the gorge much more enjoyable.
Light seasonal rains bring greenery to the landscape, while cooler temperatures make hiking through rocky and riverbed terrain more pleasant.

After arriving at Chek Chek-e Shomali Village, visitors can leave their vehicles in the designated parking area. The 4-kilometer hiking trail begins from there and typically takes around two hours to complete.
The path follows the bed of a seasonal river and passes through rocky, winding terrain. Along the route, hikers will encounter two junctions; taking the right-hand path leads directly to Shutariku Gorge.
Due to the presence of unusual rock formations, slippery moss-covered surfaces, and challenging terrain, visiting the gorge without a local guide is not recommended. For safety reasons, hikers should ensure they are properly equipped and familiar with the route before beginning the journey.
