Ronaldo Set for Al Nassr Return as Postecoglou Reveals Team Plans

According to SaedNews: Al Nassr head coach Ange Postecoglou said Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the squad will not affect the team’s strategy after the Saudi club’s heavy victory over Al-Diriyah.

Al Nassr secured a 4-1 win against Al-Diriyah in the round of 32 of the Saudi King’s Cup, booking a place in the next stage of the competition.

Speaking after the match, Postecoglou praised his players’ mentality and said the team is still at the beginning of its journey. He explained that Al Nassr are continuing to learn their style of play and need more time and improvement to reach the desired level.

On Ronaldo’s comeback, the Australian coach said: “I don’t think our strategy will change when Ronaldo returns. The players’ mentality is very good, but we are still learning our style of football. What you are seeing now is only the beginning, and we still have a lot to improve.”

Postecoglou added that Ronaldo has been working hard and remains an important player for the team. He said the Portuguese star has been involved in more activities than any other player and that it was important for him to start the season in full condition. Ronaldo has completed one training session and will be seen on the pitch soon.

The coach believes Ronaldo’s return can increase Al Nassr’s attacking strength, but he does not want the team’s identity to depend on the presence or absence of one player.

Regarding the Asian Champions League draw, Postecoglou said the competition is important but his focus had been on the difficult cup match against Al-Diriyah. He added that preparations for the Asian competition would begin, while the next priority is the league match against Al Riyadh.

Postecoglou said starting the season strongly is important and that players understand his expectations. He added that when Ronaldo joins the team, Al Nassr will have greater potential for improvement.
