How to Make Delicious Homemade Indian-Style Cutlets

According to Saednews, Indian cutlets, also known as Indian-style Shami cutlets, are a delicious dish prepared with a generous blend of aromatic spices, just like many other Indian recipes. They are especially suitable for those who enjoy rich, spicy flavors. This recipe uses garam masala, a flavorful blend of several spices. You can also customize the cutlets by adding different ingredients according to your taste. If you prefer milder food, simply reduce the amount of spices.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef

  • 2 medium potatoes

  • 2 onions

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

  • ½ teaspoon cumin

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • 1 bunch fresh parsley

  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder

  • Salt, black pepper, and turmeric, as needed

  • Oil, for frying

How to Make Indian Cutlets

Peel the potatoes and onions, wash them, and grate them finely. Squeeze out as much excess liquid as possible from the grated potatoes and onions.

Place the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the grated potatoes and onions and mix well. Finely chop the fresh parsley and add it to the mixture, then stir in the breadcrumbs.

In a separate bowl, crack the egg and add the garam masala, paprika, cumin, a little salt, black pepper, and turmeric. Beat well until combined.

Pour the egg and spice mixture into the meat mixture. Knead everything thoroughly with your hands for several minutes until the mixture becomes sticky and holds together. If the mixture seems too loose, add a little more breadcrumbs until it becomes firm and manageable.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour to allow the mixture to rest and the flavors to develop.

After resting, heat a frying pan over medium heat and add enough oil for frying. Take a portion of the mixture roughly the size of an egg and shape it with your hands into a round or slightly elongated patty.

Place the cutlets in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through on both sides. Transfer the cooked cutlets to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Garnish the Indian cutlets with fresh vegetables or herbs and serve hot with bread or rice.

Enjoy your flavorful, crispy Indian-style cutlets!
