SAEDNEWS: One of the refreshing and enjoyable cold beverages with numerous health benefits is mulberry syrup.
SaedNews Cooking Desk Reports:
Mulberries: 2 kg
Sugar: 1.5 kg
Citric acid: 1/4 teaspoon
Vanilla: 1/8 teaspoon
Place the mulberries in a juicer and extract the juice. Strain the juice through a sieve to remove any solids.
Mix the mulberry juice with sugar and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Stir 3–4 times during this period.
Transfer the mixture into a pot (it should be large enough to prevent overflow). Cook over steady high heat until it boils and thickens to a syrup-like consistency.
Dissolve the citric acid in 1 tablespoon of water and add it to the syrup.
After 2–3 minutes, remove the pot from heat and add vanilla.
Allow the syrup to cool, then pour it into a container and refrigerate.
Pour about 1/4 of a glass of mulberry syrup, add ice, then dilute with cold water.
