SAEDNEWS: Two Tankers Catch Fire After Striking Mines While Attempting to Cross an Unauthorized Strait of Hormuz Route, IRGC Navy Says
According to Saednews, The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has claimed that two tankers, one east of the Strait of Hormuz and another within the waterway, exploded and caught fire after striking mines while attempting to navigate an unauthorized route.
According to a statement issued by the IRGC Navy's Public Relations Office, both vessels had committed multiple violations and disabled their navigation and positioning systems before attempting to cross the restricted route.
The IRGC Navy warned that, as previously announced, any vessel cooperating with what it described as the U.S. military's aggression and plundering, violating Iranian regulations in the Strait of Hormuz, or entering the unauthorized zone would face the risk of striking a mine.
The force also urged commercial vessels to disregard what it called the claims and assurances of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander.
