SAEDNEWS: Donald Trump has defended the US attack on Iran amid heavy criticism, saying Washington had no alternative and that he would repeat the action if necessary. Vice President JD Vance has also continued to defend US efforts to pressure Tehran, 175 days after the start of the offensive.
According to SaedNews: US President Donald Trump, facing intense criticism over what he described as an unnecessary war against Iran, has again defended the decision to attack, saying Washington had no choice. He claimed that if the same situation occurred 100 more times, he would make the same decision, arguing that Iran must not obtain a nuclear weapon.
The claim comes despite repeated statements from US intelligence agencies and the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran has never intended to produce a nuclear weapon.
Trump also repeated his familiar sweeping assertions, saying that had Iran acquired a nuclear weapon, it would certainly have used it and destroyed Israel and the wider Middle East. He then again claimed that the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, Vice President JD Vance continued, 175 days after the start of the attack on Iran and the failure of the military option, to speak about Washington’s efforts to bring Tehran to its knees.
Vance said the US presence in the region was intended to ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon. He also claimed that Washington possesses various tools to prevent Iran from acquiring such a weapon, even though years of maximum pressure, sanctions and military attacks have failed to achieve US objectives.
Vance added that Washington sometimes relies on diplomatic tools and at other times on economic measures in dealing with Iran, and said the US would impose costs on Tehran over what he described as Iranian efforts to disrupt oil and gas trade.
