SAEDNEWS: Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi warned Tuesday of a serious and imminent threat to the life of imprisoned Hamas leader Sheikh Muhammad Jamal al-Natsheh, alleging that he is facing systematic abuse and deliberate medical neglect in Israeli prisons.
According to SaedNews: Mahmoud Mardawi, a leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), warned Tuesday of what he described as a serious and imminent threat to the life of Sheikh Muhammad Jamal al-Natsheh, an imprisoned leader of the movement.

Mardawi said al-Natsheh is being subjected to a “systematic process of gradual assassination” in Israeli prisons. He pointed to continued severe beatings, torture, mistreatment and what he called deliberate “medical neglect,” saying these practices have placed the prisoner’s life at serious risk.
He said the treatment of al-Natsheh and other Palestinian prisoners represents a clear example of an ongoing humanitarian crime, accusing the Israeli regime of pursuing retaliatory measures intended to break the prisoners’ will.
Mardawi stressed that the strategy of repression has so far failed to crush the prisoners’ determination and would not succeed, arguing that the Palestinian spirit of resistance stands above every crime and military pressure.
The Hamas leader held Israel directly responsible for the lives of all Palestinian male and female prisoners. He warned that continued silence over psychological torture, denial of medical care and systematic starvation of detainees was no longer tolerable.
Mardawi called on human rights and international institutions, particularly the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations, to act urgently and pressure Israel to halt what he described as the “gradual assassination” of prisoners.
He also urged Palestinians inside and outside the occupied territories to launch broad and comprehensive efforts on domestic and international fronts in support of prisoners and not allow Israel to continue its alleged crimes away from public scrutiny.
