SAEDNEWS: A senior Yemeni official has warned Saudi Arabia against turning Yemen into a battlefield while keeping its own territory and interests shielded from the consequences, as clashes between Yemeni forces and Saudi-backed militias intensify across several areas.
According to Saednews, Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, a member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, said continued Saudi military deployments and equipment reinforcements in Yemen, combined with economic and political pressure and a crippling blockade, suggest that further escalation remains a possibility.
He stated that any attempts to impose new military realities would be met with measures aimed at protecting Yemen, its security, and its sovereignty.
Bin Habtoor also said Saudi Arabia could not evade responsibility for the consequences of rising tensions by attempting to shift the confrontation into Yemen through local forces and proxy groups.
