SAEDNEWS: A senior IRGC official said Israel is incapable of waging a war against Iran on its own and entered the conflict only with the backing of the United States. He dismissed Israel as a “proxy force” acting on behalf of Washington and the West.
According to Saednews, Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, the IRGC’s deputy political chief, said recent appointments of senior Iranian military commanders reflect a “transformational” shift in the country’s defence doctrine.
He said the newly appointed commanders, all veterans of the Iran-Iraq war, had demonstrated their capabilities in battle following the deaths of several senior commanders.
Javani added that recent appointment decrees issued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, contained language specifically suited to current conditions. He pointed to phrases such as “intelligence network” and “every Iranian a Basij” in the decree appointing Hojjatoleslam Hossein Taeb as head of the Basij, describing them as signs of a forward-looking strategy.
According to Javani, the IRGC leadership under Major General Ahmad Vahidi has been tasked with achieving “maximum deterrence” and adopting a new military posture in which defensive operations may also take on an offensive character.
“We have never been the ones to start a war, but since we are in the middle of a war and the enemy is seeking opportunities, the enemy should learn from these decrees and their messages that our armed forces will adopt transformational approaches,” he said.
He stressed that Iran’s enemies should not expect to carry out surprise attacks successfully.
“The enemy must know it cannot carry out surprise actions against us and catch us off guard. Perhaps it should be the one expecting strategic surprises,” Javani added.
He also said that the previous war, which he claimed was launched by the enemy based on a “miscalculation,” failed to achieve its objectives. Javani said Israel entered the 12-day war only with US backing and argued that Israel is not capable of entering a war with Iran independently.
