SAEDNEWS: After a ceasefire agreement between Masoud Pezeshkian and Donald Trump, the U.S. reportedly carried out airstrikes on Iranian military and drone facilities. Trump warned that further attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz could threaten the survival of the Islamic Republic.
According to the political desk of the Saed News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump released an official message on the Truth Social platform on Saturday evening local time, confirming military strikes on targets inside Iranian territory. In his post, he claimed that U.S. Air Force aircraft had recently struck Iranian missile depots, drone storage facilities, and coastal radar stations, citing alleged repeated violations of a ceasefire agreement.
Trump also adopted a highly aggressive tone, repeating familiar Washington rhetoric and warning Tehran. He wrote that they may never learn from past events and that, if the situation continues, Washington would be forced to bring the matter to a complete military conclusion—an action he claimed could bring the Islamic Republic of Iran to its end.
Hours before these controversial remarks, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a detailed statement outlining the military dimensions of the confrontation. According to the official report, U.S. forces launched a new round of targeted strikes on June 27 against Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, and mining capabilities, under direct orders from the Commander-in-Chief.
The U.S. military stated that the operation was a direct response to the targeting of the commercial vessel M/V Over Lovely and a suicide drone attack on the Panamanian oil tanker M/T Kiko, which was carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil and was sailing near strategic waterways in the Strait of Hormuz at approximately 4:30 a.m.
This heavy exchange of fire and the effective breakdown of the ceasefire occurred only ten days after a ceasefire memorandum was reportedly signed on June 18, 1405 (Iranian calendar), with mediation efforts involving Pakistan, Qatar, and other regional actors. The agreement, reportedly signed electronically by Masoud Pezeshkian and Donald Trump, was intended to reduce escalating regional tensions.
However, repeated security incidents in southern maritime routes—including an unidentified projectile strike on a cargo vessel off the eastern coast of Oman—have indicated that diplomatic agreements have so far failed to restore stable security to commercial shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, raising renewed concerns about escalating military tensions in the region.
