SAEDNEWS: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi says Israeli attacks on Gaza-bound aid ships and international activists are because of the regime's fear that the crimes it committed against Palestinians will be exposed.

Iran: Israel, US Actions Against Aid Flotilla Aim to Mask Gaza Crimes – Deputy Foreign Minister

According to Saednews, A senior Iranian diplomat criticized recent actions by Israel and the United States following the interception of humanitarian vessels headed for Gaza.

According to Gharibabadi’s post on his X account on Wednesday, Israeli forces halted ships carrying humanitarian aid intended for Gaza, while the United States imposed sanctions on activists associated with the flotilla, describing these measures as security-related.

He argued that, under what he called a distorted interpretation, items such as food and medical supplies are being treated as security threats, while humanitarian assistance is being framed as unlawful activity. He also said that the ongoing blockade, which contributes to shortages affecting civilians, is being justified as a defensive measure.

The diplomat rejected Israel’s justification of “security” in relation to its actions against the flotilla, stating that restricting humanitarian aid, punishing civilians collectively, and preventing access to essential supplies violate international law.

He further suggested that the interception of aid vessels and the sanctioning of humanitarian activists reflect an attempt to conceal wrongdoing rather than genuine security concerns, referencing the reported seizure of ships in international waters and the detention of activists aboard them.
