SAEDNEWS: Donald Trump says if US–Iran talks fail to reach an agreement by Wednesday, the temporary ceasefire between the two sides may not be extended, raising the risk of renewed military conflict. At the same time, a second round of peace talks is scheduled for Monday, while the 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon has largely held so far.
According to Saednews policy service, citing CNN, U.S. President Donald Trump has again claimed that if negotiations do not reach an agreement by Wednesday, he may not extend the temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran—a move that raises the possibility of renewed military operations.
Iranian sources told CNN on Friday that American and Iranian delegations are expected to hold a second round of peace talks on Monday.
While U.S. officials have not yet confirmed these talks, Trump had previously expressed confidence that the two sides are close to a deal.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, the first 24 hours of a 10-day ceasefire have passed, and the agreement appears to be largely holding, although Lebanon has accused Israel of multiple violations of the truce.
