Saed News: a specialist in Iranian traditional medicine and faculty member of Babol University of Medical Sciences has reported the role of nutrition, especially cooking methods, in preventing diseases.
According to SAEDNEWS, Dr. Morteza Mojahedi, speaking at a family physicians conference in Babol, stated that despite significant advances in medical science and treatment, many diseases are still not fully curable, which has shifted global attention toward lifestyle modification.
He said that nutrition is one of the most important pillars of a healthy lifestyle, and the way food is cooked in the kitchen plays a very important role in maintaining or threatening health, and greater care is needed in this regard.
This specialist in Iranian traditional medicine emphasized the importance of using fresh food materials and criticized the long-term storage of food in the refrigerator and repeated freezing of raw and cooked foods, considering it a factor that reduces nutritional quality.
The faculty member of Babol University of Medical Sciences also warned about cooking methods and said that overcooking food, especially prolonged frying and grilling, can lead to chemical changes in food and the production of harmful and carcinogenic compounds.
Importance Of Food Color Change
Mojahedi pointed out the strong color change of food due to high heat and stated that these changes, especially in foods such as chicken that are excessively fried, indicate a reduction in the health value of the food.
The faculty member of Babol University of Medical Sciences emphasized that moderation in cooking, avoiding excessive frying and roasting, and paying attention to the health of food alongside its taste and appearance can play an important role in improving family health.
