A smoothie is a type of drink and summer dessert made by blending fruits together. To prepare it, slice and chop the fruits, then blend them into a thick beverage. It’s essentially a mixture of fruit juice and pulp.
No one knows exactly when or by whom coffee was introduced into human life, as various tales and stories have always surrounded this unique and captivating bean. But if we dig deeper and try to trace the origin of coffee beans, we ultimately reach the Ethiopian Plateau — a place tied to a legend about coffee being discovered by a goat!
Wherever its true roots may lie, coffee has become one of the most popular and beloved consumables in the world today. It comes in many forms and is used in desserts, beverages, and cakes. One especially delicious drink you can enjoy in the summer — or even in the morning — is the chocolate coffee smoothie. Given how loved this drink is, there are countless variations and combinations for it.
Brewed coffee: ¾ cup
Banana: 1
Ice: ½ cup
Cocoa powder: 1 teaspoon
Vanilla extract: ¼ teaspoon
To prepare this banana-based smoothie, first peel and slice the banana into rounds, place them in a sealed container, and freeze for a few hours. If you prefer to make the smoothie without banana, simply skip this step.
To make the coffee, you can:

Use your preferred ground coffee in an espresso machine basket, French press, moka pot, or any other brewing method to prepare ¾ cup of brewed coffee.
Next, place the frozen banana, ice, cocoa powder, vanilla, and brewed coffee into a blender. Blend everything thoroughly until smooth. You can also use a hand blender or food processor if a regular blender isn’t available.
To serve, drizzle some chocolate syrup inside glass cups, pour the smoothie in, and top it off with a scoop of coffee or chocolate ice cream, if desired. Enjoy!
Use high-quality dark cocoa powder for the best flavor.
To make it thicker and creamier, optionally add coffee or chocolate ice cream.
You can prepare the smoothie with or without banana, based on your preference.
