According to Saed News’ Science and Technology Service, Lexus stunned the automotive world at the Japan Mobility Show with the unveiling of the radical Lexus LS Concept. This concept goes beyond the boundaries of a traditional luxury sedan, presenting the brand’s future flagship as an ultra-luxurious, large six-wheeled multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that emphasizes “Luxury Space.”

With its bold, boxy design that departs significantly from previous LS models, the concept stands out as a statement of innovation. Its most striking feature is the six-wheel configuration, utilizing dual rear axles. Lexus explains that this setup was designed to optimize and maximize the cabin’s floor space, offering an interior that feels like a private lounge or a “sanctuary on wheels.”

Key Features

  • Six-wheel configuration: Dual rear axles enhance stability and interior space optimization.

  • Large sliding doors: Provide easy access and a grand entry and exit experience.

  • Luxurious interior: Crafted with warm materials and ambient indirect lighting, featuring rotating middle seats that create a face-to-face meeting space.

  • Innovative lighting design: The front end showcases sharp LED lighting elements, representing Lexus’ new design signature.

Simon Humphries, Lexus’ Chief Branding Officer, stated that “the rules of the luxury market have changed dramatically,” with customers now seeking “space and freedom.” The LS Concept is a response to this shift—focusing not on a “luxury sedan,” but on creating a “luxury space.” It embodies the idea of a “home away from home,” serving as a private mobile retreat in today’s fast-paced world.

Lexus also noted that the LS Concept is part of a new flagship family, which will include an LS Coupe Concept and a single-passenger personal mobility pod, underscoring the brand’s commitment to exploring new forms of products and experiences that go beyond the traditional four-wheel paradigm.
