SAEDNEWS: Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen faced a wave of backlash after posting on X about Iran’s water issues, with Iranian users condemning his message as hypocritical given Israel’s treatment of Gaza.
According to Saed News, Eli Cohen, the Israeli Minister of Energy in Netanyahu's cabinet—whose government has been accused of cutting off water to the people of Gaza for several months—posted a message on X on Sunday night directed at the Iranian people. In his post, he expressed sympathy for Iranians, claiming the country is suffering from water shortages due to its nuclear activities.
As reported by the political desk of Saed News, Iranians flooded the comment section of Cohen’s X page, denouncing the Zionist regime’s deliberate imposition of thirst and hunger on Palestinian women and children over months. They described the resulting genocide in the Gaza Strip as unacceptable and asserted that such a regime is in no position to express sympathy for the Iranian people.
Iranian users, while voicing support for their country's nuclear program and the need to advance it to meet domestic challenges, stated that the people of Iran do not need concern from what they called the child-killing Israeli regime.
They also reminded readers of Israel's twelve-day war against Iranian citizens, during which hundreds of Iranian women, children, and teenagers were reportedly killed. The commenters emphasized that Iran’s internal problems will be solved by its own people, and labeled expressions of sympathy from Israel’s discredited and infamous figures as a deceptive plot aimed at undermining Iran’s unity.
